Learn how to add an alarm to your to-dos.

Getting things done usually means diving into your to-do list and working without distractions. But when you’re deep in focus, a gentle nudge is sometimes needed to remind you about a to-do that you can only do at a particular time.

Here’s how you can add a reminder to your to-dos:

Mac

A reminder is set via Jump Start. It reminds you when you want to start a particular task.

  1. On your Mac, open Things.
  2. Click + to add a new to-do.
  3. Inside the to-do, click > + Add Reminder.
  4. Type a time.
  5. Click Done.

If you prefer to use Things from your keyboard, you can add a reminder even faster:

  1. Select any to-do and press ⌘ Cmd + S.
  2. Type a time and press ↩ Return.
