List Not Found When Enabling Siri

If Things can’t find your Reminders list when you enable Siri integration, here’s what you can do.

Mac

If Things can’t access the reminders on your Mac, you may not be able to select a reminders list if you go to the menu bar and click Things > Preferences, and then click the Siri tab.

You may also see this message:

You’ve chosen a reminders list that is not available on this Mac.

Here’s how to solve the problem:

  1. On your Mac, open System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
  2. Click the Privacy tab.
  3. Click Calendars.
  4. In the right-hand pane, click Things to put a check in its checkbox and give the app access to your calendars.*
  5. If Things is running, you’ll be asked whether you’d like to quit the app later or now. Click Quit Now.
  6. Click Reminders.
  7. In the right-hand pane, click Things to put a check in its checkbox and give the app access to your reminders.*
  8. If Things is running, you’ll be asked whether you’d like to quit the app later or now. Click Quit Now.
  9. After quitting and opening Things, see if you can choose a reminders list by going to the menu bar and clicking Things > Preferences…, and then clicking the Siri tab.
iPad

If Things for iPad can’t access your reminders, you may see the following message:

List Not Found: The selected reminders list is not available on this device.

Here’s how to solve the problem:

Basic troubleshooting

The fastest way to try to resolve this is by force-quitting Things through the Application Switcher and then starting the app again.

Advanced troubleshooting

If the basic troubleshooting didn’t resolve the problem, please have a look at the advanced troubleshooting below.

  1. Open Settings on your iPad.
  2. Tap Privacy > Reminders.
  3. Ensure that Things is visible in the list, then tap its switch to turn it OFF. Tap it once again to turn it back ON.
  4. Open Things.
  5. Turn your iPad sideways.
  6. In the sidebar, tap .
  7. Tap Siri and check to see if your iPad’s default reminders list is now selected.
  8. If your reminders list isn’t selected, tap the Show Reminders switch to turn it OFF. Tap it once again to turn it back ON.
  9. If the list still isn’t selected, tap List Not Found to view all of your iPad’s reminders lists and select one.
iPhone

If Things for iPhone can’t access your reminders, you may see the following message:

List Not Found: The selected reminders list is not available on this device.

Here’s how to solve the problem:

  7. If your reminders list isn’t selected, tap the Show Reminders switch to turn it OFF. Tap it once again to turn it back ON.
  8. If the list still isn’t selected, tap List Not Found to view all of your iPhone’s reminders lists and select one.

Reminders from the list you’ve selected should now appear for import in Things’ Inbox. If not, contact support.
