Changing Your Password

This page explains how you can change or reset your Things Cloud password.

Be mindful that after a password reset, all devices will re-download your entire database, which may take some time and considerable bandwidth depending on how many to-dos you have. We recommend that you do this over Wi-Fi.

Changing Your Password

You can change your Things Cloud password from inside of the Things apps. Here’s how:

Mac
  1. Open Things on your Mac.
  2. Go to the menu bar at the top of your screen and click Things > Preferences….
  3. Click the Things Cloud tab.
  4. Click Edit Account.
  5. Type your current password to proceed.
  6. Type a new password – and once more to verify.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Open Things on any other devices you use and it will prompt you to enter this new password to continue updating your to-dos with the account.
iPad
  1. Open Things on your iPad.
  2. Hold your iPad sideways to reveal your lists, then tap > Things Cloud > your@email.com.
  3. Type your current password to proceed.
  4. Tap Change Password.
  5. Type a new password – and once more to verify.
  6. Tap Save.
  7. Open Things on any other devices you use and it will prompt you to enter this new password to continue updating your to-dos with the account.
iPhone
  1. Open Things on your iPhone.
  2. In the main Lists view, tap > Things Cloud > your@email.com.
  3. Type your current password to proceed.
  4. Tap Change Password.
  5. Type a new password – and once more to verify.
  6. Tap Save.
  7. Open Things on any other devices you use and it will prompt you to enter this new password to continue updating your to-dos with the account.

Resetting a Forgotten Password

If you forget your Things Cloud password, you can have it reset to something new. Here’s how:

Mac
  1. Open Things on your Mac.
  2. Go to the menu bar at the top of your screen and click Things > Preferences….
  3. Click the Things Cloud tab.
  4. If Things Cloud is on, click the switch to turn it OFF.
  5. Click the switch to turn Things Cloud back ON.
  6. Click Log In.
  7. Enter the email address you used when setting up your account.
  8. Click Forgot Password?.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Check your email for instructions on how to reset your password.
  11. Once your password is reset, open Things on all your devices and they will prompt you to enter this new password to continue updating your to-dos with the account.
iPad
  1. Open Things on your iPad.
  2. Hold your iPad sideways to reveal your lists, then tap > Things Cloud.
  3. If Things Cloud is on, tap the switch to turn it OFF.
  4. Tap the switch to turn Things Cloud back ON.
  5. Tap Log In.
  6. Enter the email address you used when setting up your account.
  7. Tap Forgot Password?.
